“Remembering Our Veterans Through Music” initiative is focused on helping veterans transition from military service to civilian life. Improving military-to-civilian transition can serve as early intervention to downstream challenges with veteran homelessness, suicide, health, unemployment, underemployment, and poverty. Through the “Remembering Our Veterans Through Music” effort, we can help meet the needs of our veterans and address challenges that have a lasting ripple effect on our community. The “Remembering Our Veterans Through Music” The concert is FREE for everyone.
We were thrilled to have hosted the Knox Media Group Annual Gospel Explosion presented by WKAX 1500 AM. The soul-stirring event took place at Galilee M.B. Church, 23001 County Rd. 14 (Waterloo Rd.) in Florence on Sunday, March 3.

Pastor Moshiu T. Knox is a dedicated and influential leader and founder of Knox Media Group, with deep roots in Pace, Mississippi. He developed a passion for church music, playing the piano for various congregations and choirs throughout his youth.
Pastor Knox's academic journey commenced at West Bolivar High School, Rust College in Holly Springs, MS and in the United States Air Force, where he earned an Associate in Allied Health Science degree and distinguished himself as an Aeromedical Staging Facility nurse and Certified Flight Nurse during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. His dedication earned him the esteemed status of a veteran.
While stationed at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, Pastor Knox married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Lucas. Together, they are proud parents of three children and grandparents of four grandchildren.
Meet Church Secretary, a Mississippi Delta girl with a heart as warm as a Southern summer. Her nickname comes from her beloved role as the church secretary at Galilee M. B. Church, where she’s known for her welcoming smile and kind words.
The Church Secretary brings that same warmth and charm to the airwaves as one of the voices of the lunchtime show, where she brightens up your midday with her lively and engaging presence. A proud graduate of Tougaloo College in Jackson, MS, she's also the loving mom of two wonderful kids, Brittney and Brandon. Whether she's on the mic or in her community, the church secretary's love for people shines through in everything she does.
Ramona Barnett was born and raised in Florence, Alabama, to her parents Edith Barnett and the late Thomas Barnett Jr. She attended Central High School from K-12, followed by NorthWest Shoals Community College for Cosmetology. Later, she became a certified chef through Auguste Escoffier.
As a single mother of six children and grandmother to four grandchildren, Ramona is known for being positive, real, loveable, and hardworking. She aspires to make a difference in her community and the world, hoping that her actions will positively impact others.
Ramona's hobbies include cooking beautiful, tasty food and baking delicious treats. She loves to sing gospel, southern soul, R&B, and blues. Her favorite pastime is sitting around with her family every Sunday after church, enjoying fellowship under someone’s shade tree. And yes Mona B is the Choir President!
Montrell Menard Reeder is an accomplished professional in the entertainment and marketing industries. He holds prominent positions as a radio personality on 105.1 FM with Knox Media Group. His educational background includes studying Business Management at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University
Montrell has a versatile career that spans various roles, including being an independent marketing and advertising professional, an entertainment industry consultant, and a movie producer. He is also known for Ain't It Main radio show on 105.1 FM with Knox Media Group
Additionally, Montrell has made significant contributions to the production world, being recognized for his work on "Diamond Eye: T.H.O.T. Process 2

Janet D. Ramsey was born in Memphis, Tennessee. From the tender age of about 5 or 6, she grew up in the beautiful, sunny landscapes of Southern California. For six years of her life, she lived in Europe. The first year was a mix of difficulty, excitement, education, and occasional sadness because she missed her family. However, living in Vienna, Austria, turned out to be a wonderful and beautiful experience.
Her love for music spans a wide range—from Classical to R&B, Old School R&B to Rap and Gospel, with a little bit of Rock & Roll and a touch of Country. For the past three years, she has been part of Knox Media Group, Inc. in the Shoals area. She proudly contributes to the Shoals' first Black, locally owned, and operated FM music station. Additionally, she is the radio personality for WKAX 1500 AM, a 24-hour Gospel station.
Janet is part of a dream she never saw coming but is thoroughly enjoying the ride. She looks forward to the journey ahead and the many unwritten chapters in her life's book.
Kaelin Denton (KD) is the newest addition to the Knox Media Group team. A native of both Florence and Nashville, Kaelin grew up immersed in radio and music, with his earliest memory being a dedicated listener to Radio Disney. In 2021, he graduated from the University of North Alabama with a Bachelor’s in Entertainment Business.
After a brief stint as a concert promoter and artist manager, Kaelin began his career in broadcasting as a freelance voice actor and AM radio personality. He now continues to express his love for broadcasting, working happily under 105.1 FM.
